Yves Bissouma joined Spurs in a £25 million deal this summer.

Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma has signed for the North London club this summer and has played every game for Spurs as a substitute this season.

The 25-year-old is struggling to break into the partnership of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle of the park.

But Spurs director Fabio Paratici claims he will slowly be an asset for the team once he gets accustomed to the team’s style of play.

He made his UEFA Champions League debut against Marseille this week.

Paratici told Spurs TV: “Bissouma has some different skills to our midfielders. He’s better in one-v-ones technically speaking, he can even shoot from distance.

“He’s a bit different with his skills, so he has to enter in our mechanism because the team is now really well organised. Super organised. Coming into the team is not easy for players, it takes a bit of time to adapt.”
