Brahim Diaz joins AC Milan on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

The attacking midfielder flew into Malpensa airport on Wednesday and now has finalised a deal to play for the Rossoneri for the 2020/21 season.

A Milan statement read: “Milan is delighted to announce the signing of the Spanish footballer Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid on loan until June 30, 2021.”

He will be handed the no.21 shirt at San Siro.

The 21-year old signed for Real Madrid in January 2019 but has struggled for game-time since making his move from Manchester City for €15million.

The midfielder made only five starts for Los Blancos last season and made only 21 appearances in all competitions during his 20 months at the club, scoring only two goals.

His agent, Pedro Gonzalez, criticised Madrid for not giving him ‘the required space and above all the confidence he needed’.

Diaz is expected to see more first-team football now at San Siro and would help Milan to improve on their sixth-place finish in the 2019/20 season.
