Atletico Madrid are very interesting in acquiring the services of both Diego Costa and Christian Benteke for next season.
A move to Atletico would see Chelsea’s Costa return to his old club, while Benteke has struggled in his first season at Liverpool since arriving last summer.
It’s thought that Jurgen Klopp has angered Benteke by ‘ignoring’ him since the German replaced Brendan Rodgers in October, and has scored just eight goals in 35 appearances this season since moving from Aston Villa.
Costa has had a mixed season, with moments of brilliance and brutality, and despite his talent has often let his passion get the better of him on the pitch, and has retained his reputation of being a player to jump into confrontation. He’s currently serving a suspension after being sent off in Chelsea’s FA Cup quarter final at Everton.
Liverpool will be keen to make back as much of the £32million they paid for Benteke back, but know that’s unlikely, while Costa could go for any price depending on which manager comes in to take over at Stamford Bridge in the summer.
