10. Michael Ballack

Kicking of this list of the Top 10 Famous Footballers That Never Won an International Trophy is Germany’s International veteran footballer Michael Ballack. having scored 42 goals for Germany in just 92 appearances, Ballack came so very close to winning an international trophy, However, Germany lost their most important match 2-0 in the finals of the World Cup 2002, and then to rub salt into the wound, six years later Germany then lost to Spain 1-0 in the final of the Euro 2008, by then this was the end of Michaels International career and sadly he never got to lift any international trophy

9. Roberto Baggio

Former Italian footballer Roberto Baggio played as a second striker or alternatively as an attacking midfielder for the Italian national team, he notched up 56 caps for the national team finding the back of the net 27 times. Baggio is well known for the penalty miss against Brazil in the final of the World Cup in 1994 , However, Baggio scored over 200 goals at club level. Roberto Baggio is also known for being the the 4th highest top scorer for Italy.

8. Oliver Khan

Oliver Khan takes up 8th spot as he has never won a major international trophy with the Germany national team but has won a number of trophies at club level. Oliver Khan spent most of his club level career at Bayern Munchen a club he won so much with but was unable to replicate what he did with Bayern Munchen with the German national team.

He made 86 appearances with the German team but was unable to scoop a major international trophy, he came close to winning it in 2002 but lost to Brazil 2-0 in the final of the World Cup but Oliver Khan managed to scoop the Golden ball after his magnificent performances throughout the campaign.

7. Dennis Bergkamp

One of the greatest dutch players to ever grace the footballing world and definitely one of the best players to have play for Arsenal in the club’s history. he was well known for his time at Ajax and Arsenal and is regarded as one of the best players of his generation scoring over 250 goals for club and country showing how good of a player Dennis Bergkamp was.

Bergkamp was capped 76 times for Netherlands and managed to find the back of the net 37 times. Dennis Bergkamp won several trophies at club level but was unable to lift any international major trophy with the Netherlands national team.

Luis Figo is currently the most capped Portuguese player with 127 caps for the Portuguese national team. Figo was renowned for his great creativity and ability to get past defenders easily during his football career. The former Barcelona and Real Madrid player was one of the best players during his time and won so much at club level, but never got a chance to win a major international trophy with the Portuguese national team, he would have won the Euro in 2004 but only managed to claim silver that year.
