Everton are close to sealing the move on loan of Chelsea youngster Christian Atsu.
Having signed Romelu Lukaku for £28M on Monday night, the Toffees are on the verge of signing a second Chelsea player.
Competition has been fierce for Atsu, with as many as ten clubs linked for the Ghanaian, who impreseed at the World Cup in Brazil.
Atsu spent last season at Vitesse Arnhem, but having returned to his parent club, did not feature in the Blues’ 3-1 pre season win over the Dutch side.
Everton were hampered with Premier League rules regarding the signing of Atsu, the rules stating clubs can not sign more than one player on loan from the same club. After the Lukaku deal was completed, the Toffees were free to pursue Atsu.
A host of clubs were also interested, including Aston Villa and Sunderland.
