Top 5 Expensive Transfers That Could Happen This Summer

What are the five expensive transfers that would be done this summer? With the transfer window set to open officially next week, it’s time for clubs to get their wallets out and start splashing the cash in order to build their squad for next season.

Some clubs are already active, take Liverpool for example, but most clubs will be waiting until the window officially opens as when one player moves, it can lead to a knock-on effect elsewhere.

SillySeason’s Five Expensive Transfers To Look Out This Summer

The transfer merry-go-round is expected to begin so we thought we would look into five possible transfers that could become the most expensive this summer.

Yesterday we looked at Top 5 Deals That Could Happen in the Summer Transfer Window, but now we are going to look at potential deals that will cost clubs a lot of money.

Let’s get this list started.

5) Lionel Messi to Barcelona – free transfer

The World Cup winner is heavily expected to join Barcelona this summer, especially after he decided to end his two-year spell with PSG.

The Argentinian and his family has spoken to the media in his home country and admitted that he expects a deal to be finalised in the next few weeks. However, it’s not yet clear if Barcelona would be able to land him due to their financial distress.

A lot of talks has him linked with Al Hilal, but in recent weeks, Barcelona have declared their interest in bringing back their most celebrated player.

Bookies have Al Hilal as favourites, but as of yet, it’s not officially confirmed, but we are going back to bookies and believe the veteran forward would join the Saudi Arabian side.

4) Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool – £62million

The Argentine played a key role in the Argentina team that won the World Cup in Qatar last year. He has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most skilled midfielders and is eager to advance in his professional career.

A fresh deal he signed with Brighton last year keeps him there through the summer of 2025. In 26 games this season for Roberto de Zerbi’s team, he has scored nine goals.

This summer, Jurgen Klopp might be interested in hiring him, but he’d have to compete with teams from the Premier League like Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United.

3) Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid – £100million

This would certainly be an easy deal but reports have heated up in recent weeks about the potential transfer.

The England international has reportedly decided to not renew his contract with Borussia Dortmund after having contract negotiations, and it’s now believed he has officially asked to leave the club. Dortmund demands £100m for their prized midfielder which could easily be one of the most expensive transfers in the summer window.

The young midfielder refused to sign a new deal after holding talks with the Bundesliga club and is now heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are leading the race for the Jude Bellingham.

2) Harry Kane to Real Madrid – £100million

Another deal that’s been hotly talked about in recent days.

Harry Kane had a stunning goalscoring season with Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 30 goals in 38 Premier League games, and his impressive form has caught the eye of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

With Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard all potentially leaving the Galacticos, Madrid are in need of a lethal striker, and England captain Harry Kane could be that guy.

Real Madrid needs to match Spurs’ £100m asking price for their club captain, the Spanish side will want to negotiate a further down for a player who has just one year left on his contract.

1) Declan Rice to Bayern Munich – £115million

The big deal of the summer transfer window so far appears to be this one.

Declan Rice to Manchester City could eventually cost The Bavarians around £115million, with West Ham holding out for as much as possible for their club captain.

The England international has informed West Ham that he wants to leave the club, but as of yet, they have rejected two formal bids from their Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool.

Another formal offer by Real Madrid is expected to be made in the next few days.

So there you have it. These are five potentially expensive transfers that could take place this summer.
