Despite the interest Garay is happy at Benfica and rules out January move. He has been a target of David Moyes ever since he took over at Manchester United. Due to his defensize nature he has been strongly considered due to Ferdinand’s poor form and Vidic’s injury problems.
Garay said: “I have learned a lot since I came to Benfica and I am very happy at the club.”
The Argentine has been playing a lot of international football and hopes to guarantee a spot for Argetina in the World Cup.
“We qualified and it will be my first World Cup if I get called up so I’m really excited.”
