Striker could be on his way to the Premier League

According to reports, Fernando Llorente is set to leave Juventus on Monday in order to join Arsenal.

Despite interest from their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, the Gunners are rumoured to complete the signing of the Spanish international for around £8.56 million.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to bring another striker to the Emirates Stadium, in order to provide competition for Olivier Giroud.

The other main strikers include young prospect Chuba Akpom and Theo Walcott, but Wenger ofter chooses to play Walcott out wide.

Real Madrid hitman was the main target

Wenger recently admitted they had money to spend in this transfer window; and he wanted to use the finances to try and materialise a bid for Real Madrid centre forward Karim Benzema.

However, new Madrid boss Rafa Benitez stated that Benzema was going nowhere. This has meant Wenger has turned his attention to the World Cup winner Llorente.

The 30-year old has fallen down the pecking order at the Juventus Stadium, behind Alvaro Morata and new signings Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala.
