SillySeason highlight the Five Things the new Liverpool boss must do at the club

With Brendan Rodgers now out of the door at Liverpool Football Club, it’s time for a new man to come in and take over the reigns.

With numerous reports suggesting it’s Jurgen Klopp coming in to take over at Anfield, SillySeason thought it was time to highlight five things that he must do if he wants success at Liverpool.

Now of course it may not end up being Klopp and it could be someone else, so here are five generic things the new boss must do at Liverpool.

5) Find The Right Formation

To this day we don’t think Brendan Rodgers had a stand-out formation in mind.

3-5-2, 5-3-2, 4-1-2-1-2, he just kept changing his mind week-in, week-out.

The new manager at Liverpool has to find a formation and then stick with it. You can’t expect the best out of players when you keep changing tactics from week to week.

A solid and stable formation would improve Liverpool drastically and that’s one thing the new boss needs to do.

4) Sort Out the Defence

Liverpool‘s defence has been a mess for years now.

Just when you think they are getting an understanding, they make a massive error.

The likes of Emre Can, Alberto Moreno, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho are all prone to making errors and that’s something the new manager needs to work on.

Liverpool are leaking goals, and although they used to just outscore their opponents, they cannot do that these days so it’s costing them more and more points.

3) Keep Daniel Sturridge Fit

This is probably easier said than done, but it’s something that has to happen.

Daniel Sturridge was class for Liverpool when they nearly won the Premier League, and without him, they look half the team.

Since his return he’s proven he hasn’t lost his goal-scoring touch, but whoever takes the managerial role will have to find a way to keep him fit.

Sturridge is vital to Liverpool and vital to the new manager, whoever it may be.

2) Stop Losing Key Players

Daniel Agger, Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling.

Liverpool should never have lost these four players but they did and it cost them.

The new manager at Anfield will have to show some backbone and fight to keep hold of the club’s best stars and not sell them off just to make money.

Liverpool haven’t coped with losing Suarez to FC Barcelona and are now look weak on the attack without the pace of Sterling, who joined Manchester City.

With reports of Barca wanting Philippe Coutinho, the new boss at Anfield will have to put his foot down and say enough is enough.

1) Make Anfield A Fortress Again

Gone are the days clubs fear playing here.

Just two seasons ago Liverpool were smashing Arsenal for six at this ground, but not anymore.

Every club goes to Anfield feeling confident they can leave with at least a point. West Ham United won there, Norwich City drew there and Bournemouth were very unlucky not to take something from the game too.

The new manager needs to make teams scared of Anfield again and the club have to start winning their home games.

So there are the Five Things we believe the new boss at Liverpool FC needs to do.

What are yours?
