Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted that the club may sell Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, according to reports.

Spanish publication El Confidential has indicated that the Champions League holders may be tempted into a deal, but it would take an astronomical amount from another club.

CR7 has been strongly linked with a return to Manchester United, where he is still held in high esteem.

Perez has claimed that Ronaldo’s age, 30, is a factor in the decision.

Ronaldo has come under fire in recent weeks, as Real have hit a stumbling block in the league.

He was sent off in their 2-1 win against Cordoba for kicking two of their players, earning a two-game ban.

He returned for the 4-0 derby defeat to Atletico.

He has attracted criticism for celebrating his 30th birthday with a wild party, just hours after the derby disaster.

Any club interested would almost certainly have to break the world-record transfer fee, £85m for Ronaldo’s team-mate Gareth Bale.
