Real Madrid have denied claims of bidding a whopping €310 million for Brazil and PSG star Neymar. Yesterday , a Spanish television channel called TVE had reported that the European powerhouse had submitted a bid of €310 million ($360 million) for the Brazilian.

In a statement on their website, Real Madrid said, “In light of information broadcast tonight by TVE regarding an alleged Real Madrid offer to PSG and their player Neymar, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to state that this information is absolutely untrue.”

The club added, “Real Madrid has made no offer of any kind to PSG or the player.”

Neymar is currently with the Brazilian side at the 2018 World Cup where he had a terrific outing against Mexico at the Round of 16. The PSG man opened the scoring in the 50th minute after tapping Willian’s pass. This was Neymar’s second goal of the tournament. His first was scored in the 2-0 win against Costa Rica in the group stage.

He also made the pass which saw Roberto Firmino scoring Brazil’s second in the 88th minute. Brazil won 2-0 and Mexico went out in the last 16 for the 7th consecutive time. The five-time champs will now take on Belgium in the quarter-finals. Belgium scripted a dramatic comeback by beating Japan 3-2 from 2-0 behind.

Neymar was adjudged the Man of the Match for his performance. However, the match also saw the player’s playacting as he fell on the ground in agony whereas Miguel Layun made a pinch of a contact with his ankle. Then again this wasn’t the first time Neymar did such thing.

After the game, Neymar said, “I’m here to win. I hope I can improve always.  knew that I was going to need some pace to get back to my normal tempo. I feel much better. I’m happy for the whole team and I congratulate my whole team and were always improving.”
