Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson urges coach Unai Emery to replace Granit Xhaka with their target Steven Nzonzi. Emery has already completed a few signings during the summer transfer window that include Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. However, Emery is keen to sign the 29-year old whom he managed at Sevilla.

Robson has backed up Arsenal to bring the Frenchman back to the Premier League. When asked by ESPN about Nzonzi being a potential Arsenal player, Robson said, “Yes, they need a good holding midfield player.”

“Unai Emery is building a squad and trying to change the way the squad is being built and the players within it. Nzonzi, I think, is a good player. He’s a holding midfield player, he’s good in the air.

He’s better than the players like Xhaka that Arsenal have got at the moment. So I think it would be another hit, Nzonzi to Arsenal.”

Sevilla’s asking price for the defensive midfielder is £35 million. Provided the move is sealed, then Arsenal will be the Frenchman’s third Premier League club. He previously played for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
