Fulham are planning to cut down their stadium capacity in a bid to expand Craven Cottage.

Work on the Riverside Stand is expected to kick start from next year and it will take around two years to finish the work. The newly promoted side did have the option to use other ground as a makeshift home but have decided to use Craven Cottage to host all their home fixtures during the course of the renovation.

Plans have been sanctioned long ago and the London giants have appointed Buckingham Group to construct the new stand. The cost of the renovation is expected to hover around £80m and upon completion of the work the total capacity will be 30,000.

A large number of seats are set to be expected and the club have already announced they are planning to reduce the number of seats. The exact numbers of seats are yet to be figured out but it is expected around 6000 to 7000 seats could be affected due to the ongoing construction.

Fulham are having a tough time in the Premier League as they are currently deeply submerged in the relegation zone. Their disappointing starts saw the ouster of manager Slavisa Jokanovic as owner Shahid Khan decided to appoint Claudio Ranieri in an order to save the club from demotion.
