Gary Neville has said that Jose Mourinho would be sacked from his job at Manchester United before the season ends.

The Red Devils were thrashed by Liverpool in their last Premier League match by 3-1 at Anfield.

Former Manchester United captain-turned-football pundit Gary Neville has predicted Jose Mourinho to be sacked before the season ends. The Portuguese gaffer seemed to be absolutely helpless as his side were taken to the sword by Liverpool in their 17th match of the Premier League, beating the Red Devils by 3-1. The resounding victory sends the Reds to the top of the table leapfrogging Manchester City as the Red Devils stay on the sixth position with their boss Mourinho taking some serious stick from the former Manchester United great.

Neville came out all guns blazing against the Manchester United manager and said, “United I’m sure will change the manager at the end of the season at the latest. We’re all pretty certain of that.”

He also took a dig at the club authority and said, “But the board room is so naive it’s unbelievable. To give him an extended contract, knowing his cycle of every three years, was incredible. Nobody above him can handle him. They don’t know what to do with him, they don’t know what to say to him. They don’t know what he’s going to say at every press conference. It will cost a fortune to lose him now.”

Mourinho, on the other hand, took the blame for the loss at Anfield and said, “I am really, really happy with the players I had on the pitch, with their attitude, with their effort, I am more than happy,” he added, “Because I am more than happy I assume the responsibilities of the defeat and I want them to be hidden behind me. They gave absolutely everything. Honest people they gave absolutely everything.”
