5 good reasons to ignore the Hazard leaving rumours!
The rumours just don’t go away. Eden Hazard is supposedly packing his bags and off to the Spanish capital, but let’s look just a little below the surface to find the ‘Real’ truth.
- Hazard and his family are happy in London….
Two days ago he did an interview with Chelsea TV. He was talking about his life and future and he made a very prominent statement….”My kids are very settled in London”
That is something hard to go back on, you don’t mess with your family or your kids lives, that’s a given!
2. Chelsea and Real Madrid haven’t even spoken
It’s easy to make up with rumours. Messi is going to Manchester City, Arsenal will sack Wenger if they lose to Manchester City, see very easy. But in the case of Hazard you actually need to at least start talks between the clubs and the player to make up a rumour! Madrid haven’t even made an offer for Hazard, although Chelsea would turn it down anyway!
3. The source of the rumours
The Daily Express/Daily Star are the ones pushing this rumour. They are basically the same paper, same owners etc but different level of quality from bad to very bad. Their sales figures have been dwindling badly over the years and they need massive controversial headline stories to try and keep their rag afloat. It doesn’t matter for them if the story is true or not as they know readers will forget their current fake stories when they come up with the next one. Oh by the way the latest story from the Express is as follows…
“Neymar could reportedly make a shock move from Barcelona to bitter rivals Real Madrid this summer” This was reported yesterday. It will cost them £173 million at least to meet Neymar’s release clause. It looks like Real Madrid are just trying to buy up the world according to the not so reliable Daily Express!
The Daily Express in their defence desperately use whatever sources they can. The Madrid sports paper ‘Don Balon’ is one of those. ‘Don Balon’ have just been running the story that Neymar is on his way to Manchester United (yes that’s where the story came from) even though Mourinho himself said it wouldn’t happen. Anyway why move from sunny Barcelona to Manchester…move from a Champions League team to a Europa League one? No that’s never going to happen….at least for the next few years when Neymar is tired of winning everything in sight!
4. Chelsea are in the process of drawing up a new contract for Hazard…
Chelsea are about to initiate fresh contract talks with Hazard. They aim to increase his weekly salary to 300k per week. That will make him the highest paid Premier League player and just above the 290k that Pogba receives. By the way….that Spanish paper, ‘Don Ballon’ remember them? They are running this same story right now that Hazard is undergoing talks to increase his weekly salary. How do I know? I’m writing this from Spain now!
5. Selling Hazard may see Conte leave
The Express…the same paper that are spreading rumours that Hazard will start talks with Real Madrid have now just released the following statement….
‘Antonio Conte tells Roman Abramovich NOT to sell Eden Hazard’
The implications of this are massive. ‘The Evening Standard’ are reporting that Conte’s contract extension talks are on hold until the Hazard situation is finalised. Conte sees the Belgian as crucial to his plans and future at Stamford Bridge.
‘The Express’ are now backtracking to the point where they are now saying that Hazard will definitely not leave and Abramovich will block any attempt to lure Hazard away from Chelsea!
I think you can safely say now the Hazard rumour is history….now Neymar to Real Madrid…… let’s pick up on that again!
