Gotze claims he would be “really happy” if Marco Reus made the switch from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich.

The World Cup winner made the move himself last summer in a deal worth £31.5m and is hoping to see German team-mate Reus make a move to the Allianz Arena as his future at the Signal Iduna is uncertain.

The winger is currently being monitored by a host of top European clubs and Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp will have a very hard task in keeping his star man at the club.

Gotze told German newspaper Bild: “I get along really great with Marco.

“That’s his decision, he must know himself. But I would be really happy if he would come here.”

Gotze’s switch from Dortmund to Bayern was an especially controversial one as it was announced before their Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid.

And the 22 year-old has also insisted that he was not influenced into joining the Bundesliga champions, and that the decision was his alone: “It’s my life, it’s my decision,’ continued Gotze. ‘I get advice, but the final decision about my life is one I always take alone. I have long agonised about it. It was a very, very important decision for me.

“I’m 22-years-old. I cannot do everything right, I need to have the scope to make errors. This is normal, as in real life.”
