Toni Kroos and Dani Carvajal could be Etihad-bound

New Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning a sensational double-deal for Real Madrid duo, Toni Kroos and Dani Carvajal.

The news is looking set to frustrate both Manchester United and Chelsea, who were both reportedly eyeing moves for Toni Kroos in particular this summer.

Jose Mourinho is widely expected to take the reins at United, and if the Portuguese chief eventually takes charge, it’s thought he’ll look to overhaul United’s under-performing squad.

Carvajal was targeted by Chelsea in January, but a move did not materialise.

Antonio Conte will take control of the west Londoners after leading Italy at Euro 2016. Both Chelsea and United have cash to spend during the upcoming transfer window, but City’s considerable spending power might hand them an advantage over their Premier League rivals.
