Highly rated Sporting star ruled out for 10-12 weeks

Arsenal have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Sporting star William Carvalho as the midfielder has been ruled out for up to three months with a broken leg.

The 23 year old midfielder, who is being chased by several top clubs suffered the injury on pre-season virtually ruling him out of his proposed £25 million transfer to the Gunners.

Carvalho had a successful spell representing  Portugal in the Under-21s European Championships in the Czech Republic helping his national side get into the final, despite missing the crucial penalty gifting Sweden the title.

Interest in Portuguese Star

The midfielder attracted the eyes of several top clubs including Chelsea and Arsenal, who were both considering a formal bid for the Portuguese star.

Carvalho has a £25million release clause in his contract, which both London clubs were ready to activate, but after his latest injury blow, both Premier League clubs will now look elsewhere.

However it looks like a long spell on the sidelines all but ends this potential transfer.
