Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a timely transfer boost with the news that Harry Kane wants to stay at White Hart Lane and become a club legend.
The England international has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with some reports claiming Louis Van Gaal could offer up to £45million for the 22-year-old.
Kane had a breakthrough campaign last season, netting over 30-goals in all competitions, finishing second in the Premier League goalscorers tally, only behind Manchester City‘s Sergio Aguero.
Thanks to a stand-out season, Kane won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in May and had been linked with a mega-money move to Old Trafford.
However, the striker has confirmed that he wants to stay at Spurs and go on to become a club legend.
“I’m happy at Tottenham which is a great club heading in the right direction,” he told the Daily Telegraph.
“I’m excited and the season has started now, which is great, so I just want to get the games going, get into that rhythm and start scoring goals.
“I want to become a club legend. You are always going to face pressure in football.
“But I’m very strong-minded and I know what I want to achieve and taking that number 10 shirt was just another part of that.”
Kane swapped the number-19 shirt for the number-10 shirt this season.
