Fernando Torres is confident that he can fill the hole that Didier Drogba has left since leaving Chelsea.

Torres, who joined Chelsea from Liverpool for £50m, is now the front man for Chelsea and he believes he is ready to take the place of Drogba, who left Chelsea this summer.

The Spaniard has previously struggled at Chelsea and found it hard to settle and score goals, but since the turn of the new season, he has scored three goals and is looking like his old-self.

“Didier is not here anymore, so there is more responsibility for me and I’m ready for the challenge,” the 28-year-old admitted in the Daily Star Sunday.

“Now, I am looking for new personal targets, like getting as many goals as possible – hopefully more than in my best season at Liverpool.”

Torres has also been talking about the new-look Chelsea side after a very busy transfer market and he believes they are ready to fight for the Premiership title once again.

He added, “I think all the fans are excited about the Premier League again, after a couple of years of not winning the trophy.

“So the Premier League is a big target and maybe we can become the first team to win two Champions Leagues in a row.
