Santi Cazorla has pleaded with Arsenal fans to not hail him as the new Cesc Fabregas.

The Ex-Malaga man who moved to London in the summer for £16m has impressed everyone in the footballing world with some fine performances and many pundits have likened him to ex-Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas.

But Cazorla, 27, declared: “Please don’t compare me with Cesc Fabregas. I am Cazorla and not Cesc. It’s not possible to compare because our styles are different.

“Now I’m here I have noticed that Cesc is a symbol for this club and I am far away from being that. I spoke with him before signing — and other colleagues in the Spanish team. My choice was clear.”

He added: “I am very happy with my first weeks with Arsenal.

“It was such a joy to be nominated as player of month, that’s an incentive to work even harder.”

Cazorla has helped Arsenal to a solid start of the new season only losing one game so far.
