Leicester City to double striker’s current wage

Jamie Vardy is set to have his contract doubled by Leicester City in order to fend off Premier League champions Chelsea.

The 28-year-old has been a revelation this season for Claudio Ranieri‘s men, scoring 15 goals already this season, which has seen Leicester rise to the top of the Premier League.

His impressive scoring form has also seen him break Ruud Van Nistelrooy‘s long-standing record of most goals scores in consecutive games.

Vardy eclipsed the Dutchman earlier this season after he scored 11-games on the trot, and his incredible season has seen his price-tag rise to £30million, with Chelsea ready to pay it.

New Contract

However, Leicester are desperate to keep hold off the Englishman and are now preparing a ‘double-your-money’ contract for the striker.

Vardy currently earns around £40k-a-week, but officials at the King Power Stadium are ready to offer him a contract worth closer to £80k-a-week following his goalscoring antics.

The striker only recently signed a new and improved deal, but due to his form and reported interest in him, Leicester want him to sign another contract.
