Player signs 5 year contract at Britannia

Joe Allen has completed a permanent move from Liverpool to Stoke City.

The Potters have payed £13million for the midfielder, who attracted attention after some marvellous performances at Euro 2016 for Wales.

He signed from Swansea for Liverpool in 2012, becoming Brendan Rodgers’ first signing as Reds boss for £15million. Despite a tricky couple of seasons, he blossomed under Jurgen Klopp this season and put in some fantastic performances under the German manager.

It wasn’t enough to save his Anfield career however, he made an impact too late into his contract and, with just a year left on his deal, he was deemed surplus to requirements. He will join Mark Hughes’ side in time for the new season after signing a 5-year contract.
