Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has taken to Twitter to slam Manchester United’s squad and has labelled it as ‘their worst in Premier League history’.

David Moyes has had a tough start to his United reign, but after beating table-toppers Arsenal just before the international break, it looked like things were on the up for his side.

However, yesterday they conceded a 90th-minute equaliser away at Cardiff City, costing them all three points and leaving them seven points off The Gunners.

The Championship midfielder stated that Moyes’ men looked so weak in the centre of the park, with both Thomas Cleverley and Marouane Fellaini having awful matches, but the Englishman did say that they will be better once Michael Carrick returns from injury.

Barton tweeted: ‘Easily the worst Man United side in Premiership history this. Don’t think they have ever been this weak in middle of the park’

‘Shows how important Carrick is…’
