Interim manager doesn’t get full-time role

Newcastle United Football Club have announced their decision to part ways with John Carver and Steve Stone after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.

The Magpies began the season brilliantly under Alan Pardew, but after more fall-out from the fans, the manager quit the club in order to re-join his old-side Crystal Palace.

After Pardew‘s departure, Newcastle fell into real danger, losing eight games on the trot at one point under the guidance of interim manager Carver.

Club Haven’t Spoke

Although there have been no formal statements from either the club or the coaching staff, it’s believed Mike Ashley has informed the duo that they will be leaving the club.

Favourite For Job

According to reports, Steve McClaren is favourite to take over at St James Park after he failed to get Derby County promoted to the Premier League, despite being top of the Championship earlier this year.

As for Newcastle, they will be in the Premier League yet again next season after they beat West Ham United 2-0 on the final day of last season, relegating Hull City and ensuring their top-flight status.

More to follow as it breaks.
