Chelsea boss still doesn’t expect signings

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is still adamant he won’t spend big in January despite the club’s poor start to the new campaign.

The Blues are sitting 16th in the Premier League after losing nine out of their first 16 games, but despite their latest setback last night against Leicester City, Mourinho is adamant he won’t spend big in the New Year.

Chelsea have been linked with several signings for the winter window, with a striker and a centre-midfielder both linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but the manager himself is keen to reiterate he won’t be making any signings in the window.

No Signings

He said: “I don’t think it is right I go to the board and say these players are not good and we need to spend.

“We have these players and it is with these players we have to go.”

Mourinho was also asked about Chelsea’s chances of getting top-four this season, and he all-but confirmed they had no chance of finishing in the Champions League places.
