Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to reunite with Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, despite the German international being injured all season with a knee injury.
Mourinho and Khedira had a great friendship during their time together in Madrid, and the now-Blues boss wanted to bring the 26-year-old with him from the Bernabeu to Stamford Bridge, but no deal was formalised between the two clubs.
The serious knee injury has ruined Khedira’s campaign so far, but according to reports, Chelsea are still interested in signing him in the Summer, and it is believed that the German is keen to leave Spain with Mourinho’s team his likely destination.
However, after signing Nemanja Matic in the January market, Mourinho may not see a need for another holding-midfielder, but if he does, Khedira will be near the top of his list.
The challenge for Mourinho would be to get Carlo Ancelotti to sell the German as the new-manager at Madrid highly-rates the German and is keen to keep him at the club.
