Juan Cuadrado is a reported summer transfer target for Manchester United, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The paper have claimed that Manchester United are all set to pay £40 million for the winger, who has impressed for Colombia at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Cuadrado has linked up superbly with James Rodriguez, as the dark horses prepare themselves for a World Cup quarter final.

And it now appears that Van Gaal is wasting no time at all, and according to the same paper, has met with the player’s agent in Brazil.

Cuadrado himself would be a superb signing for United, as Van Gaal looks to overhaul the Red Devils squad from top to bottom.

Van Gaal has already signed Ander Herrera from Atletic Bilbao, and fullback Luke Shaw from Southampton, and want to tie up a deal for the Fiorentina man swiftly.

United are also aware that Fiorentina could possibly sell to a club on the continant, with fellow Italian side Juventus, and German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich both also keen.
