Max Allegri has sights set on Gunners

Juventus manager Max Allegri wants to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, and build his own legacy at the club.

The Italian, aged 49, believes he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves at home, despite being set to win his 3rd consecutive league title this season.

He has a difficult relationship with Italian media, meaning he will almost certainly leave the club at the end of the season.

His agent is understood to have been in contact with Arsenal about the prospect of replacing Wenger, who is expected to call time on his 20-year spell in charge of the North London giants this summer, and Arsenal have already started preparing for life after Wenger.

The club have compiled a shortlist of possible successors to the Frenchman and some have been contacted already.

RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed talks with Arsenal, while Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is also a possible candidate.
