Club’s general director comments on transfer speculation

Serie A champions Juventus won’t be making a transfer bid for Chelsea play-maker Oscar, according to the club’s general director.

The Old Lady have been heavily linked with signing an attacking-midfielder after seeing Arturo Vidal leave the club for Bayern Munich.

However, Oscar is not a player on their minds according to Giuseppe Marotta.

Juve have lost three of their key stars from last season’s successful campaign, with Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez all leaving over the summer.

Despite the club being busy in signing replacements, they are still in the market for another midfielder, and it was reported that they could go in for Oscar.

The Brazilian received some criticism from Jose Mourinho for his performances during the second half of last season, but Marotta has now confirmed that the Chelsea star isn’t on the club’s radar.

Oscar Deal Won’t Happen

He told Italian publication Quotidiano Sportivo: “A trequartista? We are looking for a midfielder numerically, not with any specific qualities.

“But they must fit in a midfield which includes Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira and Roberto Pereyra.

“Dybala could play as a trequartista. Isco and Oscar are two players who aren’t extraordinary, but they would add to Juventus.

“Unfortunately they aren’t ours and we will never sign them.”
