Wolfsburg general manager, Klaus Allofs, insists that Chelsea regret selling Kevin De Bruyne to the Bundesliga side in 2014.

The Belgian international left Stamford Bridge for £17 million after limited game time in West London. He has been in great form this season, helping Wolfsburg to second in the table.

Such form has led Allofs to believe Chelsea will rue selling De Bruyne to his Wolfsburg team. De Bruyne now plays with Andre Schurrle, who also joined Wolfsburg from Chelsea in similar circumstances.

When speaking to Kicker, Allofs said: “At Chelsea they watch with appreciation as Kevin has developed, they’ve seen it confirmed why they were reluctant to let him leave.”

The 23-year old has scored 13 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
