Laurent Koscielny has promised to give Arsenal an answer on his future before the World Cup finals begin.

Centre-back Koscielny’s agent Stephane Courbis flew in for talks with the Gunners’ manager Arsene Wenger on Thursday, and the Londoners are confident they can tie the 28-year-old down to a new deal.

France international Koscielny has three years left on his current deal but has enjoyed an outstanding season, which has alerted Paris Saint-Germain. Bayern Munich also looked in his direction last summer.

However, Arsenal’s feeling is that he wants to stay.

Courbis also looks after Toulouse full-back Serge Aurier, who is a potential replacement for the soon to be out-of-contract Bacary Sagna.

But the Gunners are understood to have knocked back Aurier and are hoping to persuade 31-year-old Sagna to stay after making him a new offer of a three-year contract, having previously tabled a two-season pact.
