Leicester demand Schneiderlin in return for Drinkwater

Leicester City have asked Manchester United for Morgan Schneiderlin to be included in any deal the clubs make for midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Drinkwater, who left Old Trafford in 2012 for £1million, has been linked with a return to Manchester after Jose Mourinho identified him as a January transfer target last week.

Drinkwater played a key role in Leicester’s title triumph last season, and that has impressed the United boss.

But the Sunday People claim if any deal was to be struck between the two clubs then Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri would like to recruit Schneiderlin in exchange.

The France international has failed to live up to the £25m price tag that saw him join the club from Southampton last summer.

And he could be used as bait by Mourinho to secure a deal for £20m-rated Drinkwater.
