Foxes want to reward Algerian with new deal

Leicester City are working on a new deal for midfield-maestro Riyad Mahrez, according to reports.

The Foxes announced last week that star-striker Jamie Vardy had put pen to paper on a new deal, and according to reports today, they are now working on a new deal for Mahrez.

The Algerian international has been a stand-out performer so far this year in the Premier League, with his goals and assists taking Leicester to the top of the table with just a few months left to go.

Mahrez moved to the King Power Stadium back in the summer of 2014, after they agreed to pay Le Havre just £400k, and on Saturday he celebrated scoring his 14th goal of the season and setting up his 10th as Leicester thrashed Manchester City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

According to reports, talks with the 24-year-old won’t begin until the summer, but after securing Vardy‘s long-term future, they now want to get Mahrez tied down on a similar length deal.
