The rules are interesting. A player must’ve played at least 5 Premier League games for a club in order to definitely receive a medal. Because of that, some players could end up not getting one.

Here is a list of Chelsea players who could miss out on a Premier League medal.

Asmir Begovic

Asmir Begovic could miss out on a Premier League medal, as he has only started one game for Chelsea this season. He made 17 appearances last season but Thibaut Courtois has been in fantastic form for the Blues this season.

Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake has only played once since returning from his loan at Bournemouth. Many Chelsea fans are confused as to why he was brought back at all. He was performing well at the Cherries and hasn’t featured very much at all since being recalled.

Which players WILL get a medal?

There are some Chelsea players who, despite leaving the club, will still get a Premier League medal once the league win is confirmed. These players include Oscar, who moved to Shanghai SIPG this January, and Branislav Ivanovic, who appeared 13 times before moving to Zenit St. Petersburg.

There is still some hope for the players who stand to miss out on a medal, however. Chelsea get to choose how their 40 medals are allocated, meaning Conte can still decide to reward his fringe players if he sees fit.
