List: The 23 teams who have qualified for the World Cup so far

World Cup 2018? Who are the 23 teams who have qualified for the World Cup so far? With eight months to go until the World Cup in Russia, we now know the identity of 23 teams who will definitely play in the Group Stage of the tournament next summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will be at the World Cup next summer as Portugal and Argentina secured their places in the final round of qualifying this week. Messi’s stunning hat-trick against Ecuador booked his nation a place despite it looking doubtful at one stage.

Iceland and Panama both qualified for the World Cup for the first ever time. Egypt also ended a 28 year drought thanks to two goals from Liverpool new signing Mohamed Salah against Congo at the weekend.

We now know 23 of the 32 teams who will be in Russia. Read on for a list of all the teams who have qualified for the World Cup 2018.

6 more places are available through the play-offs. There are also 3 places still available from the African (CAF) confederation.

Here are the remaining teams who could still make it to the World Cup next summer.

UEFA

Four nations out of Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Croatia, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Greece and the Republic of Ireland will qualify via the play-offs.

The draw will take place on Tuesday 17th October.

Inter-confederation play-offs:

Australia (AFC) vs Honduras (CONCACAF)
Peru (Conmebol) vs New Zealand (OFC)

Matches will take place during November 9-14th.
