Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Emre Can from Bayern Leverkusen after activating £9.75m release clause in the player’s contract.
Boss Brendan Rodgers is an admirer of the player and had been keeping a close eye on the midfielder throughout last season.
The 20-year-old German would provide a spark in Liverpool’s midfield and is an energetic box-to-box player who gives 100% in every game.
Inter Milan were also ready to act upon the player’s release clause, but it seems Liverpool have beaten them to it and hope to have the deal sealed early next week.
