Reds to make £52m raid?

Liverpool are taking a look at potential replacements for Raheem Sterling, in the shape of La Liga pair Denis Cheryshev and Pedro.

Sterling has been linked with a move to Manchester City in the last few weeks, having turned down an £100,000 per week contract offer to remain at Anfield.

He has also decided to skip Liverpool‘s pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia, while his future is being sorted out.

City have had two bids turned down for Sterling, who was booed by Liverpool fans at the club’s end-of-season awards ceremony.

The Reds are believed to be interested in Barcelona‘s Pedro, despite the forward signing a new four-year deal just last month. He is seen as fourth choice at the Camp Nou, behind the superstar trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Pedro’s new deal is said to include a release clause of £110m, thought the Merseysiders may tempt him with a £30m offer, as he is seeking regular first-team football.

Cheryshev spent last season on loan from Real Madrid, at Villarreal. He appears to be out of favour at the Bernabeu, and Liverpool are thought to be considering making a £15m bid. Real, though, are said to be holding out for closer to £22m.
