Yevhan Konoplyanka has declined a move to Roma stating his desire to move to the Premier League as the reason for it.
The Ukraine international was on the brink of a move to Merseyside last year but the move fell through after Dnipro’s president refused to sign the necessary paperwork.
The 25-year-old is set to become a free agent this summer, and is rumoured to prefer a move to Liverpool or Spurs.
Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Konoplyanka said, “Yes, Roma were interested in me, but I refused them. Perhaps they will be disappointed but that’s life and that’s football.”
Last time with Liverpool was different. I wanted to go there but the clubs could not agree terms. My goal as a child was to play in England. The leagues are stronger and I still want to try my hand there.”
