Liverpool are thought to be ‘confident’ of being able to bring James Rodriguez to Anfield this summer, but only if they make the Champions League.
Rodriguez has been a target for the Reds for a while, according to The Mirror, and have consistently been knocked back. However, he has now fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane, and Madrid are thought to be planning to make a move for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
A source close to Real Madrid said: “It seems Zidane is not satisfied with the player this season and has already asked for reinforcements in this position for next season.
“The player isn’t happy and it now appears a move in the summer is very feasible.”
Rodriguez is under contract in Madrid until 2020 and is valued at £65million.
