Liverpool will make a summer move for Barcelona full back Martin Montoya, according to reports from Spain.
The 23 year old Spaniard is seen to be a replacement for Glen Johnson, who’s departure from Anfield seems imminent.
Contact between the two clubs is understood to have taken place in the previous transfer window, but nothing materialised.
However Spanish reports suggest Liverpool are set to make a fresh enquiry for Montoya, as Johnson’s contract runs out at Anfield.
Montoya will want more regular first team action, having been used very sparingly by Barca manager Luis Enrique this season.
He came up through the world renowned Barcelona academy, La Masia, moving when he was just eight.
