Liverpool have been handed a transfer boost after Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri was told he can leave the club.
Shaqiri, a Swiss international, is thought to cost in the region of £20M.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid are favourites to sign Shaqiri however. Atletico, according to reports, are on the verge of selling Cebolla Rodriguez to Monaco to replace James Rodriguez.
The Anfield club, despite a host of summer signings, are still short of cover in wide positions. Though a move appears unlikely, nothing can be ruled out.
