Premier League side Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng in order to strengthen up their defence for next season.

The Reds have had a superb campaign so far this year and are still in with a good chance of winning the Premier League title, but manager Brendan Rodgers still has some concerns regarding his defensive options.

Several key errors from the back-line throughout the season has caused real concern for Rodgers and his team, and according to numerous reports, the club are keen on signing a few defenders in order to bulk up area.

Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna and Chelsea’s Ashley Cole have both been linked with shock moves to Anfield, and now, former-Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng is being linked with a Summer move.

The 25-year-old recently signed a new deal at Bayern so it would take a huge offer for Pep Guardiola to accept, but with Champions League football next season all-but wrapped up for The Reds, they may have the funds to compete with the likes of Chelsea and City.
