Manchester United’s persuit of Southamptom star Adam Lallana has come under threat, by their greatest rivals, Liverpool.
United were planning to sign both Lallana and team-mate Luke Shaw during this season’s summer transfer window as part of a £200million rebuilding scheme. But arch-rivals Liverpool and manager Brendan Rodgers has arrived on the scene with an offer of £50,000per week for Lallana, and, of course, the promise of Champions League football.
Lallana has been superb season at Southampton and is nailed on to seal a place to go to the World Cup this summer with Roy Hodgson’s England.
