Decision must be made regarding midfielder

It’s thought that Liverpool are keen to resolve the contract situation regarding midfielder Joe Allen.

Allen only has a year left on his current deal, and has been attracting interest from other clubs after good performances for his country at Euro 2016.

He helped Wales reach their first ever semi-final in a major tournament and was included in UEFA’s team of the tournament.

The 26-year-old, who has made over 90 appearances for the Reds since joining from Swansea in 2012, has yet to hold any talks over a new deal.

“We will find a solution but it’s not done,” Klopp said after Liverpool’s 5-0 friendly win on Wednesday night.

“Obviously Joe Allen is a good player. We never doubted this. He played a good European Championship, like the whole Welsh team.

“We have to make decisions, we have to find solutions. We have to talk to the player, ask the player and think about our situation. That’s how it works.”
