Liverpool lose interest in Monaco star

Liverpool’s interest in Monaco star Thomas Lemas has receded and they won’t be pursuing him.

Lemar had been previously identified as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, but according to a report in the ‘Echo’, that the attacking midfielder is currently not in their set of targets.

Monaco have sent strong warning to Premier Clubs on Thomas Lemar

The 22-year-old has been a subject of attention for long, and his chances of moving had increased significantly once he decided to not renew his contract.

Michael Edwards, Liverpool’s Sporting Director, had also been in touch with Monaco last August to make something out of the deal, but it could not lead anywhere.

It is being said that the £90million price tag associated with Lemar is something that Liverpool consider to steep, and are not willing to spend on the midfielder.
