Liverpool and Raheem Sterling are ‘miles apart’ from agreeing a new deal.

The England international has held numerous talks with the club regarding a new contract, but so far nothing formal has been signed and the two parties cannot agree terms.

Brendan Rodgers revealed last week that the club will no longer be talking to Sterling about a new deal until the end of the season, but according to reports, the Merseyside club are ‘miles apart’ from Sterling’s demands.

The 20-year-old is currently sitting on a £35k-a-week contract, but after two brilliant seasons at Anfield, he is now considered one of their best players and he wants a contract that supports that.

Officials at Anfield went as high as £100k-a-week for the pacy winger, but Sterling once again rejected the offer as he wants around £150k-a-week.

Since arriving in 2010, Sterling has made 85 appearances for The Reds, scoring 17 goals.
