Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Marc Bartra’s situation at FC Barcelona ahead of a potential Summer swoop.

The 24-year-old defender is considering an exit from the Nou Camp at the end of the season due to lack of first-team football under Luis Enrique, and according to reports, Liverpool could make a formal offer.

The centre-back has failed to cement his first-team spot this season, but has featured 21 times. However, he is still seen as a backup option.

According to reports in Spain, Brendan Rodgers has already sent scouts out to watch Barta and despite him penning a new deal recently, an offer may be launched in the Summer.

Barta has an £18million release clause in his contract, which Rodgers could meet in order to secure the deal.
