Liverpool have opened talks with AS Roma regarding a deal for midfielder, Miralem Pjanic.

The Reds are in the market for a new central midfielder with Steven Gerrard set to depart the club for LA Galaxy at the end of this season, and it seems that Brendan Rodgers has found his man.

According to reports, Liverpool are prepared to make an initial offer of around £25million for the midfielder, but the Serie A outfit want closer to £40m, with some of their officials saying he’s worth £37m.

If Liverpool do sign Pjanic, he will become the club’s most expensive player and will also be offered a contract around £160k-a-week, making him the top earner at Anfield.
