Liverpool who enjoyed an impressive season last term, will hope to wrap up the singing of Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno within the next week after he was given permission to hold talks with the Anfield side.

The Reds submitted a formal offer for the youngster that will come to around £20m, including the £15m fee plus midfielder Suso.

The Spain international’s club Sevilla have indicated that they are ready to start doing business by allowing Moreno to hold talks with the Merseyside club before he departs for the United States on international duty.

Moreno played for Spain in a friendly against Bolivia last night in his home stadium in Sevilla, and is due to fly out to Maryland for the Spanish traning camp before coach Vincente Del Bosque picks his final squad for the World Cup.

The Reds hope to settle a deal in principle before then, paving the way for many other transfers Liverpool hope to make by the start of the new season.

Liverpool boss Brenden Rodgers hopes to seal the deals of many World Cup stars such as England’s Rickie Lambert for around £4m and Adam Lallana for around £22m, as well as Bundesliga star Emre Can.
